Global Chemical Industry Gathers in Munich as ACHEMA 2024 Opens with Focus on Sustainability and Digitalization

MUNICH, GERMANY – The much-anticipated ACHEMA 2024, the world's leading forum for the chemical engineering and process industries, opened its doors today, showcasing a powerful resurgence of global participation. After a period of pandemic-related disruptions, this edition marks a significant return to pre-event scale, with over 2,500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and an expected 100,000 professional visitors.

The opening ceremony highlighted the industry's resilient spirit and its pivotal role in navigating global challenges. The keynote address by Dr. Anna Schmidt, CEO of a major chemical conglomerate, set the tone: "Our industry is the bedrock of innovation for nearly every other sector. At ACHEMA 2024, we are not just displaying equipment; we are showcasing our collective commitment to building a more sustainable, efficient, and digitally-advanced future."

The first day saw bustling activity in the exhibition halls, with strong interest in technologies related to green hydrogen, carbon capture and utilization (CCU), and circular economy solutions. The palpable energy underscores the industry's eagerness to connect, share knowledge, and forge new partnerships to drive the transition towards a climate-neutral economy.
